I'm a Meme Virgin no longer!
It has been seen so many places but I have to give the credit to Mim, where I saw it first!
Here goes...
It's not terribly exciting but there it is!
It has also been uploaded to the flickr pool!

Have you gotten tired of not being able to see what you are doing when you take your kids to see Disney on Ice and they have the nerve to turn off all of the lights which makes it REALLY difficult to do that pattern stitch that you need just a scoch of light to knit! I am all for sitting in a huge auditorium with thousands of other peoples kids but being able to knit makes it much more enjoyable! Enter the wonderful Edith Eig and her husband....they created LIGHTED KNITTING NEEDLES for just that purpose! Available next month they should be great just for the "cool" factor! Or...as I like to think of it, the why didn't I think of that factor!
Not much else going on, I am still waiting for my Knit Picks Color your own yarn to get here for this...
Still haven't figured out how to add stuff to the sidebar of this darn Typepad thing yet, if you know how, please help! I kind of miss blogger, it was much easier to add stuff to my blog there! May have to switch back sometime soon!
Anyway, I already have the kool-aid for the project, I am going to dyelift the color scheme from my friend Mei. She was right, the people at the grocery store do look at you a little strangely when you are buying kool-aid in the boxes!
I guess I will go knit something and catch up on Sunday night TiVo! Hate those clip shows on Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy though but I guess it is better than nothing like last week!
Don't ya love it when you find out that there is a PATTERN ERROR and it is not your knitting skills being called into question! Don't ya HATE it when it takes you waaay to long to think that there might be a PATTERN ERROR and check online to find it! Have to say I am feeling quite like a dork for trying it out so many times before I figured it out but hey....I did!
Now what we have is a beautiful blanket that I am going to convert into a baby blanket since I like the color and size for a baby and not for me! I do love the pattern, now that it includes that vital two stitches at the beginning of row 2 it is beautiful!
I underestimated the power of the ribbing and it is turning out much narrower than I wanted and then just when I was getting ready to whip out the bigger needle and start all over AGAIN I remembered that my friend Nathalia is getting ready to have a baby in just a few weeks and that this will be perfect! Now I just need to finish this quickly so I can move on to bigger needles and a different color for me!
Sock club socks are still on the needles, I am just a bit distracted when something doesn't turn out like it should and it bugs me, the other reason is that I made a stupid mistake and have to frog all the way back to the ribbing on the first sock and so no pictures for now!
This was just too fun! I love everything Jane Austen so this was one of my favorite Quizzes!

You scored as Emma Woodhouse. Emma is possibly one of the most loyal characters of Austen, always wanting better for those around her and doing all she possibly can to make it happen. Her motives sometimes get in the way of her good intentions and her own opinions can end up ruling her actions, but she has a good heart. She loves to be social and is welcoming to most, unless they are too silly to tolerate. While she sometimes changes her behavior to make others feel comfortable, she knows who she is and is always bettering herself.

It's Easter Sunday and I just wanted to wish you a happy one! I know I said that I would post two days in a row but then we went out of town with friends after two days of Knitting classes and I just never got to it! We did have fun in Hot Springs though and even got to spend a few very relaxing hours getting mineral baths and massages at the only remaining historic bathhouse there!
As far as the knitting goes, I have now cast on for the travel blanket/pillow in the spring issue of Knit 1 about 7 times and have yet to get it right! I am not sure if it is the pattern or me so I think I will break out the graph paper this afternoon and see. For some reason it is easier for me to see it if I am using a chart! It is only worked on 142 stitches but I have yet to get the pattern to work out correctly! Maybe I need to go back to my Mountain Lace Knitalong! So much easier! Kevin will be out of town this week and my meetings and classes all seem to happen the first and second week of the month so I should be able to get some good knitting time in this week!
Let's see, what other WIP's do I have on the needles right now, I have the sweater from the Hip Knits book that Gwyn reminded me I need to finish, that one should be ok, it is knit in Debbie Bliss Cathay and it is a nice soft lightweight silk blend so it won't be too hot to knit while it is almost 100 degrees here in Arkansas in April!
Then I have the Embossed leaves sock from the winter Interweave Knits! I chose this pattern to knit my STR from the Sock Club. After starting the pattern included in the package I was just not liking it and I have been wanting to knit the Embossed Leaves pattern since I saw it in the magazine! The colors are great for socks with leaves! I will promise to do my best to stick to the pattern this month! Now I just need to finish the pair before I get the next box!
I also have about three socks that need their mates knit up, as soon as I finish the STR then I will get right on that! There is a pair in there for my sister which I was challenged to get finished by Sheryl, who got me started on this whole sock knitting thing in the first place! She dragged me out of my sisters hospital room last spring when I saw her knitting a pair and told her I wanted to learn! Within the hour we were at Simply Fibers in Springfield purchasing a set of DPN's and sock yarn! Of course when I ran into Sheryl at Simply Fibers last month during spring break she was shocked to find that I had not knit my own sister a pair yet! I was feeling pretty much the slacker until I realized that I had knit quite a few pair that were actually meant for Sandi, but Mom had stolen all of them! Sheryl then challenged me to knit a pair for Sandi and told me she would do a pair too! Lo and behold there was a new pair of socks on her counter last weekend when I was at her house and I am only one sock into the pair! I better get rockin!
Ok, that is it for the day, at least for now! We stayed up way to late playing a DVD game last night with Jim and Sherri and then playing Easter Bunny so I am a teensy bit tired! perhaps a nap before the day gets off to a real start!
More knitting later!
I KNOW...it has been a long time but I have been busy! We had an unscheduled trip to Missouri for a funeral that kinds sorta distracted me but I did manage to get in some quality knitting time on the 5 hour drive each way! I bought this...
Which resulted in this...
I am not kidding, this book is really great and 20 pages in you find yourself with the insane need to dig out the cream and sugar yarn and begin knitting dishcloths! There is so much fun knitting in this book that I am ready to go knit a bunch of blankets and rugs for my house!
I also got a couple of other books but I will save the excitement for another blog entry, too much in one day may get a little crazy!
We have a sit n knit tonight for our local knitters, maybe there will be some pictures for tomorrows blog! Wow, aren't I getting crazy, the potential for two blogs in two days! YIKES!
Ok, I know it has been a REALLY long time since I posted, I apologize! We had spring break which we stretched out to be almost two weeks long! I took a trip to Oregon to visit my best friend Deb and didn't get near as much knitting time in as I thought we would due to a kitchen renovation that needed to be taken care of! I have however knitted some socks and have begun another Mountain Stream scarf for my sister, shhhh, don't tell her!
I will get some pictures on here tomorrow to share some progress, I promise!
