Blog commitment issues

I know, Typepad that it has been nice while it lasted but here is the deal...I just am not sure you are worth it! I mean the cost was worth it for a while but in the immortal words of  Janet Jackson...What have you done for me Lately?  I have struggled through this year trying to wrap my head around your typelists and how to mold you to my liking but really, you are just not malleable enough for me! I think I am going to have to return to the FREE blog that I began with and was completely happy with in the first place! I am sure that you work well for others that have found your color schemes enticing and your cool widgets fun but we tried and it just didn't work out! I know, you are going to say that it will be a pain for those friends that link to you to have to change the links but I know that they are up to the task and won't hold it against me! Hey, maybe they will leave the old link on there for a while so that you can get some glory for a while longer!

I will try to visit once in a while until the subscription expires! Have a good life!

You will be missed!

TWO in ONE DAY!

Ok, I looked, tomorrow it would have been 5 MONTHS since I posted so I thought I better get on it! Have to thank Rachel for this, looks like there are many knitting quizzes to come!

What Kind of Knitter Are You?

You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting and do it all the time. While finishing a piece is the plan, you still love the process, and can't imagine a day going by without giving some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation involves leaving ample space for the stash and supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn ends and you begin.http://marniemaclean.com

New Years Resolutions

I guess you thought I forgot how to knit or something?!  I am not even going to look back at the last post to see how long it has actually been since I last posted because it will make me ill and feel like a terrible knit blogger so I will just go on from here forward and say that I will try to do better in the new year! How is that for a resolution!

While I have been knitting a bit (ok, lots of scarves and mittens for Christmas) I have been so distracted by going back to school and doing a really long (with lots of reading) bible study and the kids activities not to mention training all of those darn Girl Scout Leaders!  Keeps me hopping.

Alright, I have another resolution...this year I resolve NOT to injure myself in any stupid way that will impair my ability to knit! If I absolutely MUST fall through a ceiling or injure myself in some other way (no rotary cutter blades here please!) it must be on an extremity not generally used for knitting! For those of you who know me you will understand what a massive undertaking this is. I won't even men tion the diet thing because next to this resolution that is a simple task! I tend to have a knack for doing stupid things that cause me pain and months of lost knitting time! I am thinking Rogue would have made it off on the needles if I hadn't hurt my elbow last summer costing me almost 6 months of lost knitting time! The yarn is sitting there looking at me, calling me. There is a bit of rogue guilt going on here!

So what have I been knitting?  Mostly small this and that. I received  a set of the Knit Picks Options needles for Christmas (Thanks Mom!)and felt the need to find all other needles and get myself organized so I spent a day going through all of the knitting bags to find the lost needles and UFO's and did a bit of soul searching to determine which ones were worthy of completion! Some serious time was spent frogging and we were left with about 3 projects on needles and a few socks here and there for quick knitting!

Of course after all of this knitting and stash time I of course felt the need to begin a NEW project. My sister Sandra (who has finally been sucked into blogland, it's alright, she isn't a knitter, I tried but she is with us in spirit, Go read it, she is a very special person and has a way with words that will inspire you!) has yet to be the recipient of my knitting so I felt the need to remedy that situation! She has told me repeatedly that she would like a capelet or shrug so I went in search of the perfect Sandi pattern! After looking through the book stash (which sadly is almost as crazy as the yarn stash) I found the Spriral Shell pattern by Deborah Newton that is in Wrap Style. A quick side trip to the yarn store and voila...

I love this pattern, it looks quite complicated but it is one of the easiest I have used and it is a piece of cake to remember! I don't want to hear any crap about the fact that my Christmas tree is still up either...I was out of town! I plan to have this done by the time she returns from Mexico in a few weeks.

I also bought some prism angora to make a sprial scarf. I can't wait to sink my hands into that one, hopefully my angora allergy will restrain itself so I can enjoy this yarn, it was too pretty to pass up!

Well, knitting calls, I promise to try to do better and keep you updated on my knitting adventures and follies!

really

I promise!
